The doors jim morrison. The doors 3a break on thru- a celebration of ray manzarek new.

The doors 3a break on thru- a celebration of ray manzarek karaoke. Perfect life - performance of this - one of the best movements written in the 20th century! This is so authentic. Thanks for sharing. Love ❤️ it 🎹. A true rock god. Simply the best band. Wonderful. Break on thru a celebration of ray manzarek and the doors.

Ray discovered a new music style. I love that style. Very dynamic and so beautiful. I can listen every day to the doors, never boring it 's get energy. The doors revival. En tiempos de reggaeton que embrutece cada día más oír al gran RAY es un alivio.

Thee West is Thee Best come here and we'll do the rest. This was in Sydney, I recognize my voice 😅😅😅. What a man. Such an inspiration... A good lifelong friend of mine, a man whom I see many look at and conclude isn't exactly the brightest crayon when it comes to common sense at times, is one of the most gifted pianist's I've ever experienced in my life. I've never understood his absolutely unyielding self critical mentality towards everything he does in life. It could be a mistake in a video game, one single missed note in an otherwise perfect performance, one inch too close to the curb, he goes through such internal punishment that he will never be as good as he NEEDS to be. Anything but his unacceptable. Comparing himself to entire lifetimes of work, believing that he can never reach such aims. To most it would appear, that something he says he loves, causes him so much pain and frustration, but it is that unrelenting persuit to get better that drives him. It isn't about being a Lubomyr Melonyk, or rivaling Jordan Rudess's phantom infinity prog opera wizardy, you can't measure what makes you a good player based on your technical ability. It isn't how fast you can play, it doesn't take a Juilliard degree, it doesn't matter if you can play 100 songs off the top of your head. You have to love it. I'd be utterly stunned at his ability to create totally original sounds off the cuff at a moments notice. Jazz, blues, rock, some boot scoot n' boogie, Neo classical silliness, organ, keyboard, didn't matter. I've wanted my entire life to play any instrument at all other than drums. Especially piano, when I see players ability to understand scale profession of notes in each key and know how to tie that all together to make exactly what they want. Play around with the keys to dial it it in, but got what they want within minutes, is just so gnarly. It's a language, you stop playing at one point, and you start speaking it. It's been a dream I hope in one life I can see through, there is so much music dancing in my head begging to get out. I'm sure some in that situation would feel envy, but all I see and hear is sheer beauty and amazement. I've sworn up down left and right, for years at how talented and gifted he is, it's interesting to see someone hold such an impossibly high threshold for themselves. Especially knowing I and many others would just about murder a man to be able to do. What he considered to be bad, was like Paul Gilbert shredding, to any other musician. I'll tell you what man I could sit back for hours and listen to that kid whale. When everyone hanging out was trying to play cards, or go out to eat, watch a movie, it was static in the background. He'd just keep playing, people would ask him to stop, and he'd go on for a bit longer. I'd be the only one watching. a genius at work. I realized something that Ray helped shine a light on for both of us. I'd always say let it go man, just have fun, just play man. Feel the music, don't calculate it. There's no fucking rule book, you aren't required to go from A to Z you can go back to F before you gry to T, it's not a race, and there is no finish line. You gotta lose yourself to it. After hearing that nonsense long enough, I think he sort of figured, if they aren't having fun how can I? So after listening to records for awhile, kind of searching for different sounds and groups, we started getting heavy into The Doors. His only exposure to The Doors was Riders on the Storm. Which he played often, with a lot of neat improv over the years. Pulling up some live stuff I kept telling him just watch Ray man just watch Ray. It's like he goes into a trance, totally absorbed in the music, always floating in the wind, changing at a moments notice, just feeling the music out. You can almost see the shift in energy Ray and Densmore have right before Jim and Robby explode. All while keeping that trance just loving in the music. An Emerson, Lake, and Palmer or two later Santana Abraxis, All Day Music WAR, etc etc. Just play! Like that never ending game at the sandlot. No one kept score, no one knew the inning, it was just play for play. I watched him slowly but surely break free. The relief you could see on his face after all those years of literal self torture never fades. Seriously cool to see from a guy you'd probably least expect. A genius in his own way. He made me realize that I hold myself to just as impossible of a standard as he did. Totally eating my own words, I could never touch a piano because how could I ever play at that level? It took him most of his life. Ryo Fukui, having never touched a piano before 1969, 6 years later he channeled an absolute jazz masterpiece that almost defies belief. 1976 Scenery - Early Summer Nothing is impossible if you just dream.

I love this guy, his tallent is outstanding. With regards to his aging, he looks like he's had a face lift or has burn tissue on his face. His hands though are still young and able to play as he did decades ago. I'm not being negative or judgmental about his looks, not at all so no attacks please. It was just an observation. Cast Rene Auberjonois / 1 H, 47 m / directed by Michael D. Olmos / / 2019 / description Windows on the World is a movie starring Rene Auberjonois, Ryan Guzman, and Luna Lauren Velez. After watching the news on 9/11 with his family, Fernando travels from Mexico to New York City to find his father, an undocumented worker.

Windows on the World is an engaging film that captures viewers attention and relates the reality of millions of immigrants living in the U.S. It is a must watch. It was also a distraction for Isis so people can't figure out what's going on. Beautiful towers! I really miss old NYC and the twin towers. Thanks for your video. I only got to the WTC one time at Thanksgiving 1976 when I was 12. My family and I went to the building with the gift shop on top. I remember looking out on that warm, cloudy November day and seeing the sun shining on the water. It looked like gold coins floating. When we got down to the main floor and went back outside, I paused and looked up into the clear blue sky and saw a lone cloud passing over the tops of the illuminated Twin Towers. What a beautiful sight that I still remember 43 years later.

They should rebuild them. How could Akhenaten be Moses? His remains were found in the tomb, KV-55 and lies in the Cairo museum. He has been identified through DNA analysis, not unless the remains are those of Smenkare, which is a possibility. But, according to legend, when Akhenaten came to the conclusion that his religion had brought Egypt to the brink of collapse, He decided to try and make peace with the Amen priesthood. He sent Smenkare to negotiate, who was promptly killed. So, no telling whatever happened to his body in the valley of the kings. But I don't think the Amen priesthood would have been so nice as to give his body a proper burial. Akhenaten, was oh so lucky to have had his body end up there, buried with his momma. As far as Tiye and her parents Thuya & Tuya, are concerned. They were identified as being African ( Nubian) not Hyksos.

I jus problem with the voice( a sort of lil echo i eared. the remainings are all closed to the hidden reality... Windows on the World, despite the fact that it takes place in the weeks following the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York, is a film that is urgently for our time. It is a hero's journey of a son trying to find his father in that grief-stricken landscape and the characters stand in for the millions of immigrants, legal and illegal, who contribute in their everyday lives, to the American landscape. The film seeks to counter the narrative that's all-too-prevalent in today's political and media landscape by telling a story set in America's biggest and most diverse city, at its darkest time. The script by playwright and novelist Robert Mailer Anderson (who also produced the film) is wise and completely engaging; he creates indelible characters who are ultimately inspiring and uplifting. Edward James Olmos gives what he considers to be the performance of a lifetime, and the rest of the cast is terrific as well-with a special shout-out to Glynn Turman. The direction, by Olmos's son Michael, is sure-handed, getting terrific performances from his cast, including his father, in this father-son story, and it's beautifully lensed. The music, including jazz and a title track written by Anderson, is pitch-perfect, supporting the story without getting in the way. This film should be seen by everybody-and I'm sure it will be in mainstream distribution soon, as this is a time when, although the major studios may have turned their backs on substance, terrific indie films like this one have many other possible venues. If you can't see it at a film festival, like I did, keep a keen eye out for it. Terrific and inspiring.

I almost got a panic attack watching this video. I don't believe it was just this video that almost caused it, rather, it was this video in addition to the mental images- now forever imprinted in my brain- of commercial airplanes smashing into the buildings and people jumping out of windows. Firefighters climbing the stairs of the towers that would be collapsing with out notice right on top of them. All of that played in my head while watching this the height at which this all played out is nerve wracking.

Wonderful film, heartfelt and beautiful acted/ filmed. Also super sound track. That zoom in on the people dining at Windows on the world really made me sad. Knowing that there were people sitting at those same tables enjoying their breakfast in the morning of 9/11 plus the staff and nobody who was in windows of the world made it out. Depending on the jurisdiction, some or all types of incitement may be illegal. Where illegal, it is known as an inchoate offense, where harm is intended but may or may not have actually occurred. International law [ edit] The Article 20 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights requires that any advocacy of national, racial or religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence shall be prohibited by law. [1] That few journalists have been prosecuted for incitement to genocide and war crimes despite their recruitment by governments as propagandists is explained by the relatively privileged social status of journalists and privileged institutional position of news organizations in liberal societies, which assign a high value to a free press. [2] England and Wales [ edit] Incitement was an offence under the common law of England and Wales. It was an inchoate offence. [3] It consisted of persuading, encouraging, instigating, pressuring, or threatening so as to cause another to commit a crime. It was abolished in England and Wales on 1 October 2008 [4] when Part 2 of the Serious Crime Act 2007 came into force, replacing it with three new statutory offences of encouraging or assisting crime. [5] The common law is now only relevant to offences committed before that date. [6] Relationship with other offences [ edit] The rationale of incitement matches the general justification underpinning the other inchoate offences of conspiracy and attempt by allowing the police to intervene before a criminal act is completed and the harm or injury is actually caused. There is considerable overlap, particularly where two or more individuals are involved in criminal activity. The plan to commit crime may exist only in the mind of one person until others are incited to join in, at which point the social danger becomes more real. The offence overlaps the offences of counselling or procuring as an accessory. Indeed, in the early case of R v Higgins [7] incitement was defined as being committed when one person counsels, procures or commands another to commit a crime, whether or not that person commits the crime. The words, "counsel" and "procure" were later adopted in section 8 of the Accessories and Abettors Act 1861 as two of the four forms of accessory. In AG’s Reference (No. 1 of 1975), [8] Widgery CJ said: To procure means to produce by endeavour. You procure a thing by setting out to see that it happens and taking the appropriate steps to produce that happening. We think that there are plenty of instances in which a person may be said to procure the commission of a crime by another even though there is no sort of conspiracy between the two, even though there is no attempt at agreement or discussion as to the form which the offence should take. But secondary liability is derivative and dependent on the commission of the substantive offence by the principal offender. This is too late to avert the harm. Thus, the offence of incitement has been preserved to allow the police to intervene at an earlier time and so avert the threatened harm. The mens rea [ edit] The inciter must intend the others to engage in the behaviour constituting the offence, including any consequences which may result, and must know or believe (or possibly suspect) that those others will have the relevant mens rea. In R v Curr, [9] the defendant allegedly incited women to commit offences under the Family Allowances Act 1945 but, because the prosecution did not prove that the women had the mens rea to constitute the offence, the conviction was quashed. Fenton Atkinson J explained that: In our view, the argument for the prosecution here gives no effect to the word "knowing" in [the relevant statutory provision], and in our view could only be guilty.. if the woman solicited that, that is, the woman agent sent to collect the allowance, knew that the action she was asked to carry out amounted to an offence. In R v Whitehouse, [10] a father was charged with inciting his fifteen-year-old daughter to have sexual intercourse with him. At this age, she would have been excused from liability for committing the offence of incest with her father. The conviction was quashed on appeal and Scarman LJ explained that:... we have therefore come to the conclusion, with regret, that the indictment does not disclose an offence known to the law because it cannot be a crime on the part of this girl aged 15 to have sexual intercourse with her father, though it is of course a crime and a very serious crime, on the part of the father. There is here incitement to a course of conduct, but that course of conduct cannot be treated as a crime by the girl. He continued: It is regrettable indeed that a man who importunes his daughter under the age of 16 to have sexual intercourse with him but does not go beyond incitement cannot be guilty of a crime. The Court of Appeal in R v Claydon (2005) EWCA Crim 2817 has repeated this criticism. Claydon had sexually abused the thirteen-year-old son of his partner in the 1980s, and was tried twenty years later on an indictment containing counts of sexual offences, including two counts of incitement to commit buggery. At that time, there was an irrebuttable presumption that a boy under the age of fourteen years was incapable of sexual intercourse (applying R v Waite (1892) 2 QBD 600–601 and R v Williams [1893] 1 QB 320–321). It was argued by the Crown that, although the boy could not in law have committed the act incited, it was nevertheless quite possible for the defendant to incite him. Having considered R v Whitehouse and R v Pickford, [11] the Court of Appeal felt obliged to reject that argument. As Laws J said in Pickford, "it is a necessary element of the element of incitement that the person incited must be capable [by which he meant capable as a matter of law] of committing the primary crime. " [12] The Court agreed because the focus of the offence of inciting is solely on the acts and intention of the inciter while the intention of the person incited are not relevant when considering whether the offence of incitement has been committed. It further endorsed the views of Smith and Hogan (10th Edition at p 295) who criticised the decision in Curr on the basis that ".. real question should not have been not whether the women actually had the knowledge, but whether D believed they had. " Furthermore, Smith (1994) said that "the court has confused the mens rea of incitement with the mens rea of the offence incited". The actus reus [ edit] The inciter is one who reaches out and seeks to influence the mind of another to commit a crime, although where, for example, a letter conveying the incitement is intercepted, there is only an attempt to incite (see R v Banks (1873) 12 Cox CC 393). So merely making suggestions is not enough. There must be actual communication so that the other person has the opportunity to agree, but the actus reus is complete whether or not the incitement actually persuades another to commit an offence. In R v Goldman [2001] Crim LR 822 the defendant wrote to a Dutch firm (ESV) which had advertised pornography for sale, requesting pornographic material. He was convicted of an attempt to incite another (ESV) to distribute indecent photographs because the offer to buy amounted to an inducement to ESV to commit a crime. In R v Fitzmaurice, [13] it was held that the necessary element of persuasion was satisfied by a "suggestion, proposal or request [that] was accompanied by an implied promise of reward". In Race Relations Board v Applin, [14] Lord Denning stated that a person may incite another to do an act by threatening or by pressure, as well as by persuasion. The incitement can take any form (words or deeds). It may be addressed to a particular person or group or to the public at large. In R v Marlow [1997] Crim LR 897 the defendant wrote and published a book on the cultivation of cannabis, which he advertised, selling about 500 copies. It was alleged that the book was not a bona fide textbook, but was an incitement to those who bought it to cultivate cannabis. The defence claimed the book as a genuine contribution to the debate on the legalisation of cannabis and said that it only contained general advice which was freely available elsewhere. The judge directed the jury that they had to be sure that the book could "encourage or persuade or is capable of encouraging or persuading other people to produce the drug". The Court of Appeal held that there was no misdirection and the conviction was not unsafe. Thus, the incitement may be implied as well as express and may be directed to persons generally. The test is whether there is a lawful use for the device. For example, a recording or transcribing device may be used lawfully without breaching copyright, but a device to detect radar signals so as to avoid speed camera/red light infringement systems would have no other purpose than assisting drivers to evade detection. But note that the act incited must be a crime by the person incited so any alleged breach of copyright would have to be criminal, and the defendant would have to know all the material facts that would make the incited person's behaviour criminal, but not that the behaviour was a crime (see the public policy ignorantia juris non-excusat which prevents ignorance of the law from being an excuse). In R v Whitehouse [15] an uncle did not incite his 15-year-old niece to incest because, if the incitement had succeeded and she had submitted to intercourse, she would not have committed an offence. This applied R v Tyrell [16] which stated that where a statutory offence is designed to protect a particular class of individuals against themselves, they cannot, as the victims, commit such offences against themselves. In Tyrell, the girl was not guilty of inciting the man to have under-age sex with her, since the girl could not herself be guilty of the full offence. Impossibility [ edit] If X incites Y to kill Z but, unknown to both of them at the time, Z had already died, it would be impossible to kill Z and so no crime of incitement would have been committed. Apart from simple situations such as this, the current law is difficult. R v Fitzmaurice allows the impossibility defence, but its scope is quite limited. X planned to collect a reward from a security firm by informing the police of the existence of a conspiracy to rob a security van. He recruited the defendant who thought he was engaging men for this robbery. Subsequently, the conspirators were arrested by the police. The Court of Appeal held that the test was to decide what sort of conduct was incited, attempted or the subject of a conspiracy. If the evidence shows incitement in general terms, e. g. to rob a security van, this is always possible, whereas if the subsequent agreement relates to a specific but fictitious crime, there might be an acquittal. In DPP v Armstrong [2000] Crim LR 379, 1999 EWHC 270 (QB) it was held that impossibility of the commission of the offence incited was irrelevant to guilt. Statutory incitement [ edit] There are, in England and Wales, a number of statutory offences of incitement, e. incitement to racial hatred under the Public Order Act 1986. Soliciting to murder The offense of soliciting to murder is created by section 4 of the Offences against the Person Act 1861. Inciting to commit perjury This offense is created by section 7(2) of the Perjury Act 1911. Inciting another to commit an offense against the Official Secrets Acts 1911 and 1920 This offense is created by section 7 of the Official Secrets Act 1920. Inciting a child under 14 to gross indecency The Indecency with Children Act 1960 provided that it was an offense, amongst other things, to incite a child under the age of fourteen to an act of gross indecency with the inciter or another. Inciting a girl under 16 to commit incest This offense was created by section 54 of the Criminal Law Act 1977. New Zealand [ edit] In New Zealand, every one who incites any person to commit an offence is a party to and guilty of the offence and liable for the same penalty as a person who commits the offence. [17] When a person incites another to commit an offence that is not in fact committed the person is liable for the same penalty as a person who attempts to commit an offence that is not in fact committed. The penalty for inciting the commission of an offence that is not in fact committed is 10 years imprisonment if the maximum penalty for the offence is imprisonment for life and in other cases up to half the maximum penalty of the primary offence. [18] United States [ edit] The First Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees free speech, and the degree to which incitement is protected speech is determined by the imminent lawless action test introduced by the 1969 Supreme Court decision in the case Brandenburg v. Ohio. The court ruled that incitement of events in the indefinite future was protected, but encouragement of "imminent" illegal acts was not protected. This "view reflects longstanding law and is shared by the Federalist Society, the ACLU, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, and the vast majority of Americans, including most staunch free-speech advocates. Incitement | Greenwich Entertainment Incitement In September 1993, Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin announces the Oslo Accords, which aim to achieve a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians after decades of violence. Yigal Amir, a law student and a devoted Orthodox Jew, cannot believe that his country’s leader will cede territory that he and many others believe is rightfully – by the word of God – theirs. As the prospect of a peaceful compromise approaches, Amir turns from a hot-headed political activist to a dangerous extremist. Consumed by anger and delusions of grandeur, he recruits fighters and steals weapons to form an underground militia intent on killing Palestinians. After his longtime girlfriend leaves him, Amir becomes even more isolated, disillusioned, and bitter. He soon learns of an ancient Jewish law, the Law of the Pursuer, that he believes gives him the right to murder Yitzhak Rabin. Convinced he must stop the signing of the peace treaty in order to fulfil his destiny and bring salvation to his people, Amir’s warped mind sees only one way forward. reactions “A daring film, an important one” Variety “This powerful film cogently indicts the dark, repressive voices in any society who can set the stage for violence. ” The Hollywood Reporter “Impeccably written and acted. ” The Jerusalem Post.

As a band kid I heard multiple time and key signatures and I go ugh. God ftw. Daily Caller, you kind of missed the whole Democrat Socialist Bernie Sanders campaign worker who shot up unarmed Congressional Republicans at baseball practice. Don't you think that example of inciting violence was a big one? We could have had 15 or more Congressional Republicans mass murdered that day, had not Scalise's security team not been there. The Democrat Socialist had a hit list of practically all the members of the Freedom Caucus. I think even the NYT was broadcasting a wink wink nod nod beforehand. This man is a bad guy.

Movies | ‘Incitement’ Review: A Tense, Angry Reckoning With an Assassination Critic’s Pick Yaron Zilberman’s film presents a discomfortingly close-range depiction of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassin in the period leading up to the killing. Credit... Greenwich Entertainment Incitement NYT Critic's Pick Directed by Yaron Zilberman Thriller 2h 3m The Israeli drama “Incitement” grabs a third rail and holds on tight. The movie, directed by Yaron Zilberman ( “A Late Quartet”), presents a discomfortingly close-range depiction of what Yigal Amir saw and heard in the roughly two years before he assassinated Yitzhak Rabin, the prime minister, on Nov. 4, 1995. Both the subject matter and the approach are fraught with danger. Even making a movie about an assassin risks elevating him to a stomach-turning level of prominence — although given the shadow that Amir already casts over the politics of contemporary Israel, where Rabin’s rival Benjamin Netanyahu remains in power and the peace process that Rabin fought for has receded into the horizon, perhaps that notoriety already exists. But a film that argues that Amir (played by the extraordinary actor Yehuda Nahari Halevi) didn’t act in a vacuum — that he was a burning fuse that, again and again, friends, family members and rabbis refused to put out — might also appear to be making excuses for his actions. “Incitement” makes the implicit case that such a criticism would have the issue backward: The notion that the political atmosphere and religious extremism in Israel in the 1990s incited Amir to violence is not new. And while Amir may be in prison, this tense, politically angry film suggests that Israel bypassed a reckoning with the nurturers of his fanaticism. Zilberman mitigates some of the perils of the project by subtly differentiating his movie’s perspective from Amir’s. At a screening at the New York Jewish Film Festival earlier this month, the director said he had opted for several distancing devices — odd angles, no melody in the score — to keep viewers from getting swept up in Amir’s point of view. Halevi is in virtually every scene, often in close-up or with the camera over his shoulder, and is frequently isolated within the claustrophobic, squarish frame. (The actor’s sly smile is chilling at the beginning and becomes more so as the movie goes on. ) The son of Yemeni-born parents, Amir is shown as a striving law student with a chip on his shoulder. He pursues a relationship with Nava (Daniella Kertesz), whose parents, settlers in the West Bank, would rather see her involved with someone else. (Their first scene together is a rare occasion when “Incitement” seems too on-the-nose: “I’m like a laser pointer, ” he tells her. “I wonder what your next target is, ” she replies. ) The product of a politically divided household — his father, a Torah scribe, supports the Oslo Accords on which Rabin staked his leadership, while his mother does not — the movie’s Amir surrounds himself with toxic influences. Early in the film, he listens intently to a rabbi who defends Baruch Goldstein, who massacred 29 praying Muslims in Hebron in 1994. He has a crackpot dream of starting a vigilante militia that will do things the Israel Defense Forces will not, and using religious retreats to lure recruits. Those close to him ignore or dismiss as jokes his declarations that someone should kill Rabin. The most generous interpretation of the rabbis from whom he seeks religious justification for an assassination is that they see his questions as hypotheticals. Potently, “Incitement” depicts Amir as just one member of a self-reinforcing fringe. Few people he interacts with challenge his beliefs. Zilberman gives the movie an extra charge by fluidly interweaving scenes of the dramatized Amir with news clips of political speeches and rallies from the time — the sort of rallies at which posters might show Rabin’s face caught in cross hairs. The overall sense is that, with conditions set, incitement is an easy, even passive process — and that Amir’s murder of Rabin is not only a tragedy, but also a cautionary tale. Incitement Not rated. It stars Billy Crystal as Harry and Meg Ryan as Sally. The story follows the title characters from the time they meet just before sharing a cross-country drive, through twelve years of chance encounters in New York City. The film raises the question "Can men and women ever just be friends? " and advances many ideas about relationships that became household concepts, such as "high-maintenance" [1] and the "transitional person". [2] The origins of the film were derived from Reiner's return to single life after a divorce. An interview Ephron conducted with Reiner provided the basis for Harry. Sally was based on Ephron and some of her friends. Crystal came on board and made his own contributions to the screenplay, making Harry funnier. Ephron supplied the structure of the film with much of the dialogue based on the real-life friendship between Reiner and Crystal. The soundtrack consists of standards performed by Harry Connick Jr., with a big band and orchestra arranged by Marc Shaiman. For his work on the soundtrack, Connick won his first Grammy Award for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance. Columbia Pictures released When Harry Met Sally... in select cities, letting word of mouth generate interest, before gradually expanding distribution. The film grossed $92. 8 million in North America. Ephron received a British Academy Film Award, an Oscar nomination, and a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for her screenplay. The film is ranked 23rd on AFI's 100 Years... 100 Laughs list of the top comedy films in American cinema and number 60 on Bravo's "100 Funniest Movies". In early 2004, the film was adapted for the stage in a production starring Luke Perry and Alyson Hannigan. Plot [ edit] In 1977, Harry Burns and Sally Albright graduate from the University of Chicago and share the drive to New York City, where Sally is beginning journalism school and Harry is starting a career. Harry is dating Sally's friend Amanda. During the drive, Harry and Sally discuss their differing ideas about relationships; Sally disagrees with Harry's assertion that men and women cannot be friends as "the sex part gets in the way". At a diner, Harry tells Sally she is attractive, and she angrily accuses him of making a pass at her. They part in New York on unfriendly terms. Five years later, Harry and Sally find themselves on the same flight. Sally is dating Harry's neighbor Joe, and Harry is engaged to Helen, which surprises Sally. Harry suggests they become friends, forcing him to qualify his previous position about the impossibility of male-female friendships. They separate, concluding that they will not be friends. Harry and Sally run into each other again in a bookstore five years later. They have coffee and talk about their previous relationships; Sally and Joe broke up because she wanted a family and he did not want to marry, and Harry's wife Helen left him for another man. They take a walk and become friends. They have late-night phone conversations, go to dinner, and spend time together, discussing their love lives. During a New Year's Eve party, Harry and Sally find themselves attracted to each other. Even though they remain friends, they set each other up with their respective best friends, Marie and Jess. When the four go to a restaurant, Marie and Jess become fast friends and later become engaged. Over the phone, Sally tearfully tells Harry that her ex is getting married. He rushes to her apartment to comfort her, and they have sex; Harry leaves the next morning distressed. Their friendship cools until a heated argument at Jess and Marie's wedding dinner. Harry attempts to mend his friendship with Sally, but she feels that they cannot be friends. At a New Year's Eve party that year, Sally feels alone without Harry by her side. Harry spends New Year's alone, walking around the city. As Sally decides to leave the party early, Harry appears and declares his love for her. She argues that the only reason he is there is because he is lonely, but he lists the many things he realized he loves about her. They kiss and marry three months later, exactly 12 years and three months after their first meeting. The plot also contains several interlaced segments throughout the film where fictitious older married couples narrate to the camera their stories of how they met. The last couple that is interviewed before the closing credits is Harry and Sally. Cast [ edit] Billy Crystal as Harry Burns Meg Ryan as Sally Albright Carrie Fisher as Marie Fisher Bruno Kirby as Jess Fisher Steven Ford as Joe Lisa Jane Persky as Alice Michelle Nicastro as Amanda Reese Kevin Rooney as Ira Stone Harley Kozak as Helen Hillson Estelle Reiner as Female Customer Production [ edit] In 1984, director Rob Reiner, producer Andy Scheinman and writer Nora Ephron met over lunch at the Russian Tea Room in New York City to develop a project. [3] Reiner pitched an idea for a film that Ephron rejected. [4] The second meeting transformed into a long discussion about Reiner and Scheinman's lives as single men. Reiner remembers, "I was in the middle of my single life. I'd been divorced for a while. I'd been out a number of times, all these disastrous, confusing relationships one after another. " [5] The next time they all met, Reiner said that he had always wanted to do a film about two people who become friends and do not have sex because they know it will ruin their relationship but have sex anyway. Ephron liked the idea, and Reiner acquired a deal at a studio. [3] For materials, Ephron interviewed Reiner and Scheinman about their lives, creating the basis for Harry. Reiner was constantly depressed and pessimistic yet funny. Ephron also got bits of dialogue from these interviews. [3] She worked on several drafts over the years while Reiner made Stand By Me and The Princess Bride. [4] Billy Crystal "experienced vicariously" Reiner's (his best friend at the time) return to single life after divorcing comedian/filmmaker Penny Marshall and in the process was unconsciously doing research for the role of Harry. [3] During the screenwriting process when Ephron would not feel like writing, she would interview people who worked for the production company. Some of the interviews appeared in the film as the interludes between certain scenes featuring couples talking about how they met, [3] although the material was rewritten and reshot with actors. [6] For example, in the scene where Sally and Harry appear on a split-screen, talking on the telephone while watching their respective television sets, channel surfing, was something that Crystal and Reiner did every night. [6] Originally, Ephron wanted to call the film How They Met and went through several different titles. Reiner even started a contest with the crew during principal photography: whoever came up with the title won a case of champagne. [4] In order to get into the lonely mindset of Harry when he was divorced and single, Crystal stayed by himself in a separate room from the cast and crew while they were shooting in Manhattan. [6] The script initially ended with Harry and Sally remaining friends and not pursuing a romantic relationship because she felt that was "the true ending", as did Reiner. [4] Eventually, Ephron and Reiner realized that it would be a more appropriate ending for them to marry, though they admit that this is generally not a realistic outcome. [7] When posed the film's central question, can men and women just be friends, Ryan replied, "Yes, men and women can just be friends. I have a lot of platonic (male) friends, and sex doesn't get in the way. " Crystal said, "I'm a little more optimistic than Harry. But I think it is difficult. Men basically act like stray dogs in front of a supermarket. I do have platonic (women) friends, but not best, best, best friends. " [8] Rob Reiner initially envisioned actress Susan Dey for the role of Sally Albright. [ citation needed] When she declined, he later considered Elizabeth Perkins. [ citation needed] He also considered casting Elizabeth McGovern. [ citation needed] Molly Ringwald was almost cast, but Meg Ryan convinced Reiner to give her the role. [ citation needed] Reiner's mother Estelle and daughter Tracy both played roles in the film. Katz's Delicatessen scene [ edit] Film still from the famous restaurant scene Katz's Deli still hangs this sign above the table. In a scene featuring the two title characters having lunch at Katz's Delicatessen in Manhattan, the couple are arguing about a man's ability to recognize when a woman is faking an orgasm. Sally claims that men cannot tell the difference, and to prove her point, she vividly (fully clothed) fakes one as other diners watch. The scene ends with Sally casually returning to her meal as a nearby patron (played by Reiner's mother) places her order: "I'll have what she's having. " When Estelle Reiner died at age 94 in 2008, The New York Times referred to her as the woman "who delivered one of the most memorably funny lines in movie history". [9] This scene was shot again and again, and Ryan demonstrated her fake orgasms for hours. [7] Katz's Deli still hangs a sign above the table that says, "Where Harry met Sally... hope you have what she had! " [10] [11] This classic scene was born when the film started to focus too much on Harry. Crystal remembers saying, "'We need something for Sally to talk about, ' and Nora said, 'Well, faking orgasm is a great one, ' and right away we said, 'Well, the subject is good, ' and then Meg came on board and we talked with her about the nature of the idea and she said, 'Well, why don't I just fake one, just do one? '" [3] Ryan suggested that the scene take place in a restaurant, [12] and it was Crystal who came up with the scene's classic punchline – "I'll have what she's having. " [3] In 2005, the quote was listed 33rd on the AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movie Quotes list of memorable movie lines. Reiner recalls that at a test screening, all of the women in the audience were laughing while all of the men were silent. [4] In late 2013, Improv Everywhere, the New York City initiative behind the annual No Pants Day in the subways and various flash-mob stunts, convened and filmed a re-enactment in Katz's Delicatessen. While a look-alike couple performed the scene, 30 others joined as if it was contagious. Surprised staff and customers responded in appreciation. The film and follow-up interviews are public. [13] In October of the same year, Katz's invited Baron Von Fancy to display his ten-foot-high mural quoting the famous line in its pop-up gallery next door, The Space. [14] Soundtrack [ edit] The When Harry Met Sally... soundtrack album features American singer and pianist Harry Connick Jr. Bobby Colomby, the drummer for Blood, Sweat & Tears, was a friend of Reiner's and recommended Harry Connick Jr., giving the director a tape of the musician's music. [ citation needed] Reiner was struck by Connick's voice and how he sounded like a young Frank Sinatra. The movie's soundtrack album was released by Columbia Records in July 1989. The soundtrack consists of standards performed by Harry Connick Jr. with a big band and orchestra arranged by Marc Shaiman. Connick won his first Grammy for Best Jazz Male Vocal Performance. [15] Arrangements and orchestrations on " It Had to Be You ", " Where or When ", "I Could Write a Book", and "But Not for Me" are by Connick and Shaiman. Other songs were performed as piano / vocal solos, or with Connick's trio featuring Benjamin Jonah Wolfe on bass and Jeff "Tain" Watts on drums. Also appearing on the album are tenor saxophonist Frank Wess and guitarist Joy Berliner. The soundtrack went to #1 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart and was within the top 50 on the Billboard 200. [16] Connick also toured North America in support of this album. [17] It went on to reach double-platinum status. [18] The music in the film is performed by various artists, such as Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Bing Crosby, and Harry Connick Jr. Reception [ edit] Box office [ edit] Columbia Pictures released the film using the "platform" technique which involved opening it in a few select cities letting positive word of mouth generate interest and then gradually expanding distribution over subsequent weeks. On its opening weekend, it grossed $1 million in 41 theaters. [19] Billy Crystal was worried that the film would flop at the box office because it was up against several summer blockbuster films, like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Batman. [3] The film went into wide release on July 21, 1989, and grossed $8. 8 million on its opening weekend in 775 theaters. [19] This was later expanded to 1, 174 theaters and the film grossed a total of $92. 8 million in North America, well above its $16 million budget. [19] Critical response [ edit] When Harry Met Sally... received a 90% approval rating on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes based on 70 reviews, with an average rating of 8. 03/10. The website's critical consensus reads, "Rob Reiner's touching, funny film set a new standard for romantic comedies, and he was ably abetted by the sharp interplay between Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. " [20] On Metacritic, the film has a score of 76 out of 100, based on 17 critics. [21] CinemaScore reported that audiences gave the film a rare "A+" grade. [22] The film led Roger Ebert to call Reiner "one of Hollywood's very best directors of comedy", and said that it was "most conventional, in terms of structure and the way it fulfills our expectations. But what makes it special, apart from the Ephron screenplay, is the chemistry between Crystal and Ryan. " [23] In a review for The New York Times, Caryn James called When Harry Met Sally... an "often funny but amazingly hollow film" that "romanticized lives of intelligent, successful, neurotic New Yorkers"; James characterized it as "the sitcom version of a Woody Allen film, full of amusing lines and scenes, all infused with an uncomfortable sense of déjà vu ". [24] Rita Kempley of The Washington Post praised Meg Ryan as the "summer's Melanie Griffith – a honey-haired blonde who finally finds a showcase for her sheer exuberance. Neither naif nor vamp, she's a woman from a pen of a woman, not some Cinderella of a Working Girl. " [25] Mike Clark of USA Today gave the film three out of four stars, writing, "Crystal is funny enough to keep Ryan from all-out stealing the film. She, though, is smashing in an eye-opening performance, another tribute to Reiner's flair with actors. " [26] David Ansen provided one of the rare negative reviews of the film for Newsweek. He criticized the casting of Crystal, "Not surprisingly he handles the comedy superbly, but he's too cool and self-protective an actor to work as a romantic leading man", and felt that as a film, "of wonderful parts, it doesn't quite add up". You could say I was raised on it, family gatherings usually amounted to relaxing in the living room in front of the TV, reciting the lines along with Meg Ryan. This film brings you to great laughing sieges, and hides within it wonderful lines that shall stick to your mind, and mix with your way of talk forever ( You're right, you're right, I know you're right. It is directed with great emotional capacity, and written with an innovative sense, a look towards the future. The actors are wonderful, they have great chemistry. This is the best role either of them has ever had. Billy Crystal is a hilarious comedian, and Meg Ryan has a perfect sense of timing. Everybody agrees (for how can you not? that the `orgasm scene' is boisterously entertaining (did you know it was not written in the script by Nora Ephron, but was Meg Ryan's idea. and this movie has definitely contributed to the cinema industry. It's first half is brilliant, the conversation in the car on the way to New York is pure comedy – witty, intelligent and fun. The second half of the movie flirts dangerously with the realm of the `lovey-dovey' world, but it manages to escape just on time. Even though it might be less funny, it is essential for the well-being of the movie, and it makes it work.
Anyone who has not seen this movie should rush and get it as we speak. This is a real classic – everyone should have it at home, for a rainy day...

I don't care how old he is. He's sexy as hell. Suara sampah anjg. This is my first time in my whole life to see Eric Tsang doing martial arts. Coming to America: Ip Man Style. A voir absolument. What song. Dangit. I keep making chapters that are too big. There is a small part that is continued in the comments. First Previous Admiral Stephen Dai – Dimensional Plane of Earth – U. N. Headquarters, New York City, U. S. A. – 5 Years and 50 days since the Infernal invasion of Earth Three days of working. Three days of furious activity to try and overcome the other lobbyists and entrenched vested interests who wanted their own cut of the supposed cake. Stephen was grateful for the EU’s full commitment and support to the plan they had to try and change the agenda, by basically doing a blitz attack at every meeting. It was something that Stephen couldn’t have accomplished with just his allotted U. staff. In that sense it was serendipitous that the previous resolution was passed with such ease. Apparently, the EU, for once unanimously, was furious at China, Amerika and India, for pushing through the withdrawal of ships and troops to prevent an escalation of the gnome-halfling civil war on Pygmia. And now, faced with so many issues such as other civil wars, a devil who wants to defect, a new, modern, human God, and new magical firearms, the EU felt their influence slipping once again and decided to take initiative and for once let their voices be heard. First, they successfully lobbied the African member states and Mars. Then they overwhelmed the meetings with man power, something that the EU could always easily do in thanks to its many seats, rather than just the single American or Indian team. And by the time the rest knew what was happening to the agenda, the EU had already gotten the approval of the agenda through. The next days there was a harsh push back, but ultimately the lobbying, the bias of the agenda, and a few particular arguments won the day and had gotten the new resolution passed. By pushing Sam forward as a solution rather than a problem, the EU and Stephen could broker a deal. Sam would be ‘allowed’ to be worshipped by Arenal peoples. If anything, it was a good experiment on what would happen and what was possible. Fears were lessened by the fact that she was definitely not stronger than multiple nukes, let alone the Heavenly Dragon’s railgun, as various experiments and clashes with other Gods had shown. More importantly, she was young, abided by the rule of law, obeyed orders, and intimately understood humanity and its cultures. Her therapeutic issues were actually like to improve if humanity accepted her rather than rejected her. Equally she could be a solution for other problems. She could intervene in various civil wars, and keep a realistic, less nuke-happy eye on the other Gods. She had also shown aptitudes for magical weapons in the past and could experiment with new designs that were already being drawn up, or serve as a viable, collateral damage-free method of countering the new magical weapons that were being produced in Pygmia. But most importantly, she was neutral. Stephen hammered on this for three days straight. If human Gods were possible, and were a source of power, then human Gods were inevitable. That was just basic game theory. And would you rather have someone who listened to orders and served the U. and left Earth to be Earth, or have a religious arms race between the various super powers much like you had with the capital dreadnoughts that had planet cracking railguns? In effect, Stephen presented it like the superpowers of old presented nukes. Everyone wants one and wants to prevent the other from having one. If someone will inevitably have the first one, best it be the U. that was legally the most restrained and beholden to the member states in almost every way possible. And as an added bonus they could observe and learn from Sam, whilst staying relatively blame free if something happened. After three days of lobbying, debates, backdoor discussions and negotiations, the moment was finally here. “And with a counted majority of votes, the resolution passes. ” The Speaker said as he hammered the gavel on his desk. Stephen smiled. “Well, that’s a first. ” He mused. “Well, it’s about damn time. ” Amanda said as she stood up and clapped. “It’s rare that things go our way. ” “Ah, just you watch, something bad will come our way. I’m just glad our subordinate didn’t get thrown under the bus for something she had no real control over. ” Stephen replied. “Oh, I’m sure some member states are already coming up with some nasty resolutions to try and use her for their own gain. ” Vice-admiral Hank McDowell commented as he clapped from his seat. “Let’s not forget the caveats that we had to agree to in order to prevent the vetoes. ” Amanda said as she unsubtly glanced at the various representatives in the room. “I know, I know. Deals aren’t made without a significant cost. Though I suppose these ones are bearable enough. “Still though, letting the member states choose which conflicts to interfere with? I thought you went mad and had gone all Pragmatist on me. ” Hank said as he leaned in closer. “Well, one day you’ll have my job, and you’ll see what I’ve always said. ” Stephen replied to Hank. “Bad things always happen, best to let them happen when you have an advantage and can leverage it? That one? ” Amanda said. “Well, one day you’ll have his job, and you’ll see what I’ve always said. ” Stephen said to Amanda. “With all this upheaval, you’re sure that a civilian will get the position again? ” Hank asked with a sly smile. “Well, one day you’ll – “ “Oh, shut your yap, old man. ” Amanda said as she laughed and sat back down. Hank chuckled but continued the question. “Still though, those caveats. ” “A third round of negotiations, I suppose. I don’t doubt we’ll get our asses handed back to us. On these points the EU is too divided. ” Stephen answered. “Northern and Western Europe want to rescue this ‘Souya’ first under the guise of intervening in the dimensional plane of Ljosalfar first, even if it risks an all-out war. ” “Yes, but the more religious countries still distrust the undead lich and naturally distrust him. Not to mention the newly U. appointed God that’s still possessed by a devil, even though that’s still classified. Gee, I wonder why they want them to prove themselves first a bit more before going to Ljosalfar. ” Amanda commented. “And since the African bloc is also quite religious, we’ll probably have to swallow a lot of crap first and go and end slavery in Draconia. I wonder why a historically oppressed continent has that as a preference. ” Hank commented just as drily as Amanda did. “Not to mention that India and China are deathly curious as to what happens when hundreds of millions of kobolds worship a U. controlled ‘asset’. ” “And we’ll get all the blow back and criticism on how to deal with removing the old regime, dealing with divine and magical threats, installing a new order, and maintaining enough funds to handle the necessary infrastructure projects as well as building the vital education, law, health and just general ‘keep-society-going’ institutions from scratch, whilst fending off the neo-colonial impulses of all the newly elected Pragmatists out there. I know, I know, yet more overtime for everyone and we’re going to get yelled at a lot, by our peers, the media, the public, and our subordinates behind our backs. ” Stephen sighed out. Then he smiled. “But we’re one step closer to doing something good, and that’s a good enough deal for me. ” SpecOps Commander Sam Robinson – The Valkyrie – Dimensional Plane of Arenal – U. Base’s Main Drill Square, Ringtown – 5 Years and 52 days since the Infernal invasion of Earth “And do you hereby swear to uphold the main principles of the United Nations of Humanity, and respect and obey the combined wishes and commands of its subsidiaries and member states, in order to defend humanity from threats both within and without? ” Admiral Stephen asked as Sam kept her right hand on her heart and her left hand up, the elbow to the side and up in a ceremonial 90-degree angle. Sam looked around at the massive crowd that was in front of her. Most were colleagues, various squads or military support staff. But in front there was the horseshoe of literally a hundred camera’s, all pointed at her. “I hereby swear to do so. ” “And do you hereby swear to perform your new duties in a manner that is conducive and compliant with humanity’s and the United Nations’ norms and values and keep to the law where applicable, and that you shall maintain the mission of defence first, never to take action aggressively against an innocent or to do so in an illegal, vicious and cruel, or otherwise disproportional manner? ” Stephen asked. That was a new section. People were, rightly so, afraid of her powers, but realized she was on their side. Sam was grateful for that. She knew she had a devil problem inside of her, but it was also the reason why she was now capable of this, floating in the air, glowing with power as she took her oath. ” “And do you hereby swear to do so until the end of your life, no matter how long it may be? And continue to do so if you ever come back to life? ” Stephen asked as a last question. That last sentence had been a real issue in the media, everywhere. Sam swallowed as she once more stared at the thousands of people in front of her. The whole situation was strange. So real, yet like a dream. Like she had a massive burst of adrenaline in her but was running around in her sleep. She took a deep breath, then another, and answered. ” “Then I hereby promote you to the special rank of Guardian of Order and Defense, of the U. D. F. ’s Special Forces. ” Stephen said with a smile. “May you prosper and defend us all. ” Sam smiled in return. She wasn’t getting any special medals or clothes. Instead, the admiral was handed a small wooden box that held her new rank in the form of some special chevrons. It was the symbol of the United Nations, surrounded by a pair of cupping hands, as though they were her hands protecting all of humanity. As Sam shook all sorts of hands of various representatives and of course saluted the admiral, she couldn’t help but wonder what a strange journey it had been for her. She had been an emotional wreck for years and resented both the devil, the psychiatrist she had to work with, and lately the alcohol and information restriction she was under. But things were definitely looking up. It was good to have a sense of hope and receive goodwill, especially under such circumstances. Better yet, the meditations and other techniques and good habits that Karla was teaching her were slowly but surely working. Sure, it still sucked to mandatorily have Vee present around her at all times and the devil inside her. But maybe the admiral would let her drink tonight, in celebration. Sam realized that for the first time in a long time, she felt better about herself. Not super good or anything, just not like she was in another rut or bad day. She could do this. She wanted to do this. Like he had always wanted. Even that felt less like a burden of a dying man, and more something that came from Sam herself. Maybe Karla was right, and she was finally moving on after all these years. It’d be 8 years soon since she lost him. “Hey, admiral, I’m allowed to drink tonight right? ” Sam asked. “Of course, just keep it celebratory. ” Stephen answered with a wink. Mage Arundosar – The Bastard of Naumdal – Dimensional Plane of Arenal – U. Base’s bar, Ringtown – 5 Years and 52 days since the Infernal invasion of Earth “Oh, god! I juzz miss him sooo much, you know! ” The G. O. Valkyrie, or Sam, said as she cried drunkenly onto the shoulder of admiral Stephen, while Arundosar, and the rest of the original Paladin squad looked on with sympathetic eyes. “Oh, honey, we know. We miss him too. But… could you maybe stop floating upside down? It’s freaking people out. ” Jacqueline said as she tried to somehow pet Sam’s head but had to do that in an inverted manner as well. It was like Jacqueline was weirdly cupping Sam’s upside-down head. “Wuzzah? Oh, nooo. This way all the snot stays in my nose. ” Sam answered. “I’m sorry I’m crying you guys! We should be celebrating! ” “Yes… we should. ” The admiral awkwardly said as he desperately looked around crestfallen as his colleagues and subordinates all seemed ready to abandon him to a night of a wet and heavy shoulder. “Perhaps no more drinks for… her? ” The newly introduced Amanda Waters said. Arundosar had sometimes seen her before, but never met her. She seemed alright, though clearly, she didn’t know what she was saying with Sam within earshot. “Wuah!? Nooo! ” Sam said she floated towards Amanda and in a weird pose hugged her while upside down. It sounded like she was saying something, or perhaps Amanda was saying, but the only sound Arundosar could hear was a muffled sobbing sound. “Oh, thank God. ” The admiral quietly sighed out as he looked at the damage done to his uniform. “I mean, I never met him, same as Alix, but all the times you’ve spoken of him, he always sounded like the nicest man ever. ” Arundosar said. “Yeah, and I am damn sure he didn’t want you crying right now. ” Myrael said as he sipped a bit of his beer. “Come on, miss Gee-Oh-Dee, let’s celebrate while I pretend that my grandma didn’t call me five times today to try and condemn your new title and make me standup to my boss to get you a different title. ” Arundosar bursted out laughing as the admiral shot an awkward glance at Myrael, and then just shrugged. “Wasn’t my idea to call her that. It was one of the member states, and they all just went with it. You’ll want to blame Denmark. ” “Denmark. Great, now my grandma is going to rile up her church against Denmark. I bet she doesn’t even know where that is. ” Myrael drily remarked. “At least she doesn’t know about the other dude that’s sometimes at the steering wheel. ” Alix said, prompting Sam to cry harder. “Uuh, ah, crap. ” Alix said as angry looks went her way. “My bad! Uh, Sam, want another drink? ” “Yes – “ Sam said as she instantly turned around and went for a hug with Alix as Amanda stood there, red-faced and paralyzed as various wet streaks glistened on her face. “ – No! ” Most of the assembled crowd of U. marines and officials loudly said. Sam started to pout and sat down in a childish pose as she was still sort of sobbing while upside down. “Ah, oh, I know! ” Alix said. “Let’s go watch the fireworks! ” “Fireworks? There’s fireworks? ” Admiral Stephen asked. “Haha, yeah, of course, remember!? Sir!? ” Alix said in a badly acted manner as she elbowed Arundosar harshly in his arm. “Ah, wha -? ” Arundosar asked. “Well… I like fireworks. Okay, I guess. ” Sam said as she stopped sniffling. “Roger that! ” Vee said as three massive armoured suits appeared out of nowhere and somehow grabbed Sam and pushed her like a balloon to outside of the bar. Immediately Arundosar felt another heavy jab in his arm. “Just make some lights in the sky, you can do magic! ” Alix quietly hissed in Arundosar’s ear. After all these years, humans were still so very strangely subtly unsubtle. “Ah, oh, okay. Uh – “ Arundosar sort of stammered as he already got escorted outside by Myrael and Alix. “Just pretty lights, right? Uh… uh-oh. ” “Where’s the fireworks!? ” Arundosar heard Sam shout as she started to fly higher and glow brighter, despite three suits clinging on to her limbs. “Oh, that’s 9 tons of weight. I feel like alcohol-induced lowered inhibitions mixed with fireworks might’ve been a bad idea, lieutenant Alix Natarajan. ” Admiral Stephen said sternly as he calmly walked behind them, causing Alix to poke and jab Arundosar harder. “Shit! Somehow this turned into a career thing, fuck! Do something, magic drow! ” Alix cursed and hissed as she accidentally jabbed him in the head instead of the arm. “Ah, haha, right on it admiral, sir! Fireworks and entertainment are coming! ” Slightly put off by the constant jabbing and various desperate pleas for help, Arundosar decided to fly away from Alix a bit. Still muttering his complaints, Arundosar produced a few balls of glowing lights that consisted of multiple smaller lights and a tiny delayed fireball in the middle. He pushed them out into the open night sky, but not anywhere near the spacedocks, the ring structure, or any of the high rises. Once the balls arrived, he started to explode them. It took some effort to do so many from 20 meters away, but it helped that they were small explosions. As he felt most of the balls exploding, producing a slow falling shower of glistening lights of various colours that he had seen before in human shows, Arundosar started to make more balls to replace the ones that had been expended. “Wooh! More! ” Sam shouted as she drifted closer to the fireworks. “Uh. Maybe you shouldn’t fly so close. ” Arundosar heard Vee say despite the distance as many others started to join them outside to see what the commotion was all about. Arundosar awkwardly glanced back at Alix as he saw the crowd quickly growing to hundreds of people, all looking and gawking at his improvised fireworks. “I don’t know how long I can keep this up! And I don’t know how to do one of those massive finales that I saw during your New Year’s ceremonies, without actually damaging the surrounding buildings! ” Arundosar unsubtly shouted at Alix, deliberately within earshot of admiral Stephen. “Ah, crap, crap, crap. ” Alix said as she started to frantically pace in place. “Uh, oh, I know! ” She shouted and started to run around like crazy, looking for someone. Arundosar sighed heavily and imagined face palming himself at the sheer stupidity of Alix as he slowly realized what she was doing. After half a minute she found him. The small party of twenty or so armoured suits all surrounded a disguised Death and Sex God was walking around the edge of the terrain, not fully allowed in due to wanting to quarantine the Absolute Worst away from interesting social gatherings. And by association the lich, being the only one who could feasibly counter him without a lot of collateral damage. “Oh, no. ” Arundosar muttered as he saw Alix worm her way through the suits and talking to the two of them. “What is she doing!? ” The admiral loudly complained. “Digging her own grave? Should I start drafting the letters of reprimand and disciplinary actions? ” Amanda suggested as she started to laugh. Arundosar slowly stopped making new orbs and began to land, readying himself for whatever horrid images would appear in the sky. And as expected, just as his feet touched ground, he could see streaks of light shoot out from the group as they walked closer. The lights gathered in the night air, high above them. As it grew, it spiraled outwards, until more and more lights joined them, slowly forming an image. “Boooh! ” Myrael shouted as Arundosar looked on, not sure what he was seeing. It seemed like a star, or a starfish but with many limbs, but it was brown and – “Booooh! You suck! ” The magically enhanced voice of the Valkyrie came through. “Booooh, show something else! ” Then Arundosar quickly diverted his eyes and felt himself blush as he realized what he was looking at. “Ooooh, dear. ” He had expected the admiral to explode in anger, but all the old man did was sigh loudly and pinch the bridge of his nose. The admiral turned to Myrael and loudly gave an order. “ Lieutenant Myrael Brown! Get your colleague under control! ” “Yes, sir! ” Myrael answered with a heavy slap of a salute, and instantly started cursing and running towards the approaching suits group, now within shouting distance. Arundosar didn’t dare look up, but all he heard was gasps and awes of the crowd behind him as their faces lit up by the lights in the sky. There were plenty of ‘wooohs’ as well as plenty of ‘booos’. Then he heard cursing and short screams. Startled Arundosar looked up again and saw hundreds of darker and larger lights, displaying all sorts of horrid and rotting undead creatures like ghasts and wights clawing and scraping away the image of what seemed to be a panda in the midst of a sexual act. “Oh, for the love of – “ The admiral shouted as he witnessed more undead horrors appear and a graphic dismemberment of the panda took place in the air above them. “ Technical Lieutenant Þorgeir Steingrímursson -! ” “Yessir! ” Þorgeir saluted instantly, not letting the admiral finish. But instead of going to the group, he instead grabbed a small pebble and threw it at Sam while he loudly cursed and complained. It was an instant hit that gently bounced against her back. “Oy, Sam! ” The Valkyrie slowly turned around, her attention clearly grabbed by the strange intermingling of graphic, horrid violence, and bestiality. “Yeah? Wassup? ” “Admiral here will buy you a whole bottle of the finest whiskey if you do a better finale. ” Þorgeir shouted. “What!? ” Admiral Stephen shouted. “It wasn’t my problem, it’s not my solution, sir! ” Þorgeir replied as he saluted with a massive grin on his face. As Arundosar witnessed the momentous occasion of the admiral facepalming himself, he got distracted by a loud and whooping cheer, coming from the Valkyrie. Arundosar looked around to see what she was doing and instantly gasped and recoiled as he saw her shoot violent jets of fire and blasts of lightning, all condensed in a whirling tornado of dark clouds ominously lit up by the light of the lightning. The crowd gasped, but unlike Arundosar’s first reaction, they all started clapping. Humans were truly strange at times, they witnessed the raw power of a God and simply cheered like it was a quaint little show. “Look, I can do it with two hands! ” The Valkyrie shouted as she started to point one of her hands shooting fire at the undead lights, and the other shooting lightning at the depraved lights. It was nothing less than an apocalyptic sight as though an angry God was coming down to smite blasphemers. As the lights slowly died out, or rather, the other Gods understood the hint, the night sky got filled more and more with the Valkyrie’s lightning and jets of fire, casting a strobe-like effect on the crowd below, like one of those infernal human clubs Arundosar went to once. “Wooooh! I bet I can do this! ” The Valkyrie shouted as the violence stopped and instead Arundosar felt a heavy pressure coming from her. She was pouring energy into a ball, like he was, except much, much more than could possibly be safe. “Ah, uh. I-I’m not sure if that’s a good idea! ” Arundosar shouted up. “Ah, shaddap. I got dis! I just watched you do it, it can’t be that hard! ” The Valkyrie drunkenly shouted back. “If we die here, you’re all fired. ” The admiral slowly drawled out, yet he refused to move. More energy than Arundosar was capable of was pouring into that ball of energy that was slowly building, yet no human seemed to be alarmed. Why were they so confident, so brazen about it? What was wrong with them!? “What’s wrong with you!? ” Arundosar shouted as he put his barrier and poured his energy into it. “If that explodes here, we’ll definitely all be dead! ” No less than a second later the Valkyrie indeed exploded it. But rather than producing a massive world-ending blast, it simply shot upwards, like a missile. It accelerated fast, letting the intimidating blaze echo out across and against the buildings around them. It went up, faster and higher, until the white ball of pure destructive energy was nothing but a small pinprick, almost like a big star. Then it exploded into a small fire. Then the small fire got bigger, and lightning appeared once more. Then it grew and grew until Arundosar hide it behind his hand. Then, thinking it was done exploding, it simply accelerated in its growth, causing Arundosar’s adrenaline to spike. A pulse of white light blasted outward and the cloud of fire and lightning mixed into a dazzling display of the worst violence nature could produce. It was then that Arundosar realized that she was indeed doing exactly what he was doing. Fire balls and lightning blasts stacked on top of each other, each blasting another outwards and producing a chain reaction of more spells activating, creating a red and blue night sky of pure destruction. The spells grew outward until they finally swallowed the full nights’ sky. Arundosar heard the crowd oooh and aaah, cheering and clapping as they did so. But before it was over a heavy wind picked up and started to seem like the beginnings of a heavy storm and started to hit the crowd. “Oh, yeah, I forgot about the shockwaves. We should go inside. ” The Valkyrie shouted as she started to fly down. “Hey, that was a great show, it was awesome! Don’t worry about a little wind. ” Jacqueline had to shout to be heard over the heavy winds as the lights in the sky died down and the crowd started to move inside the bar again. “Yeah, the admiral owes me a drink! ” The Valkyrie shouted as she grabbed Jacqueline by the arm and started to fly inside. Arundosar, still relatively calm behind his barrier, looked at the admiral. In his glance, Arundosar shared everything he could think of. “You humans are still very strange. ” “At least it wasn’t a nuke, and no one died. Could be worse. ” The Admiral shrugged. “Oh yeah, isn’t that how you lost your eye? ” Amanda shout-asked as the winds continued. “Wait, you survived a nuke!? ” Arundosar shouted as he joined them into the bar. Captain Grutak – The Yipping Rebel – Dimensional Plane of Arenal – Kobold Quarters, Ringtown – 5 Years and 53 days since the Infernal invasion of Earth The humans were acting strangely. Grutak and his fellow kobolds had all jumped and celebrated with great joy as he heard that the admiral and their own God were going to visit them. Better yet, his lawyers told him that they’d bring good news and probably were there to discuss future plans of maybe helping free some slaves. But when confronted with the impromptu show that the kobolds had frantically put up as a form of thank you, the humans all seemed to laugh instead of applauding. Their own God, the Valkyrie, even groaned at times. “And so, I swear, by all that is holy, if I must, I shall sacrifice myself for the greater good of all beings! Not just humans, but kobolds too! And I shall do so with my own blood, sweat, and tears! ” The acting kobold yipped as she briefly lifted the printed-out paper mask of the Valkyrie’s face to quickly sip from the holy whiskey bottle. Then she coughed violently as she pushed the poison down, a testament of her dedication to her craft and her God. But again, the humans laughed. Those red curtains then closed, or rather, got pulled closer by multiple kobolds who were stacked on top of each other, as they couldn’t afford one of those fancy rail systems that the humans had in their movies and theatres. But for once the humans finally started to applaud. The stage director came up and quickly yipped his rehearsed apology as the applause died down. “Ah, that was the end of act 1. We would have more, but we didn’t know you were coming so soon! Please accept my deepest and most sincere apologies, oh great defender, but if you give us a few more weeks, then we would probably be done with rehearsing the great battle scene and we could show you act 2, maybe even the final act where you defeat the great Draconic Tyrant! ” “Yeah, no, that’s fine. Take all the time you need. And you guys know that you don’t have to drink real whiskey on stage, right? ” The Valkyrie said as her glowing face looked a bit annoyed in the front row. “In fact, I am pretty sure I told you specifically to not drink that stuff, it’s poison. ” “But you drink it. Why shouldn’t we? ” Grutak yipped as he appeared from behind one of the curtains. “Because… I… Just, do as I say, not as I do! ” The Valkyrie responded with a huff, causing more humans to laugh around her. It was so strange, so very strange. She was their God, and Grutak and his fellow kobolds were doing their best to show her the greatest of respect and gratitude, for rescuing their lives and giving them their freedom. And yet her fellow humans were laughing in such a casual manner, as though they were used to such grand acts of devotion. “What she meant is that while your dedication to her is definitely appreciated, it would be better if you found a less self-harming way of doing it. ” Admiral Stephen said, also from the front row. “After all, the point of her sacrifice was to make sure you all stayed safe. It’d be a bit strange to harm yourself to thank another for saving you, no? ” “Ah, well, sure. It’s not like we are forcing people to drink. ” Grutak yipped. “We just started doing it because she does. ” “But we understand your meaning and we’ll do our best to try and understand? ” Gary said as his deep voice came in, grumbling from the outside. “Well, sounds like she should voluntarily stop drinking as well then, no? ” The admiral said as he shot a glance towards the Valkyrie. In response she groaned, and the other humans laughed again. “Hey, zip it! ” She said as she turned around and looked around angrily. She sighed and turned back to Grutak. “And you all do realize that I was just one of a handful who died trying to protect you all, right? Why can’t you show the others some respect!? ” “Wah! ” Grutak yipped out as he reflexively flinched. Then he patted his own body in disbelief. “Still alive!? Oh, right, you’re not a slave master. ” Somehow this caused the humans to groan, including the Valkyrie. Not fully understanding why, Grutak continued yipping. “Well, yes, we are showing them respect, but praying to them didn’t really work because, well, they didn’t come back from the dead. You did. I mean, did you see your own guts spilling out and your blackened body, all charred and smouldering, somehow getting up again!? That was a real miracle! So, we decided to pray exclusively to you instead, since you can do magic. ” “Right… Great. ” The Valkyrie seemed to sigh out. “What she means to say is that she appreciates your displays of gratitude, but that you shouldn’t feel obligated to elevate her above others who had fallen for the same cause. ” Admiral Stephen said. “If anything, it’s a good thing that you pray only to her, since it’s only effective for her, it just seems strange, as she, and all of us, are still getting used to a human being worshipped. We famously lack magic, if you remember. Still, perhaps we can talk about making a statue of the others to show our mutual respect for them. ” “Right, that’s a great idea. ” The Valkyrie said in response. “Of course, that sounds wonderful. “Ah, but you were here for other reasons as well, yes? ” “Yes. Of course. This was a nice introduction and show you gave us, but I suppose it is high time that we all go and discuss some more important items. ” Admiral Stephen replied. “Ah, where should we go to –“ Grutak started clapping and yipping orders back and forth. In rapid motion dozens of kobolds all started cleaning up things and packing up all sorts of theatrical items. In a dozen seconds or so, all that was left was a newly brought in table with plenty of kobold sized chairs, with the holy altar dedicated to the Valkyrie and her holy whiskey in the background. As the theatre curtains were removed and the holy image of the Valkyrie was removed more humans started laughing, but this time it seemed they were more hushed and snickering, rather than the loud outbursts they had before. Still, another half a minute later and Grutak sat down on his chair as other leaders of the community joined him by his side. Hantak, Mantak, Fortak and some new faces joined them. Briefly Grutak was saddened that Zratak and Xroftak couldn’t be here, they had died in that big fight. Grutak looked around and saw some empty chairs on his side of the table. He stood up and looked around until he spotted them. “Hey, you! Come join us! The best way you can help us is by sitting next to us, how else are we supposed to do those hushed whispers? ” Grutak yipped at Jeannette and Selene, two lawyers that were assigned to the kobold camp when they applied for asylum. Once again, he heard the humans groan and laugh. Jeannette complained. “Those chairs are too small! ” “I’m grabbing this chair! ” Selene said as she started dragging hers along. “Ah, I’m sure none of that is necessary. We were here mostly to tour around and only have a short preliminary discussion. I think most of the actual detail can be discussed further in more spacious rooms at the U. base in Ringtown. ” The Admiral responded. “Oh, nono. “This is how we’ve seen humans treat their guests in your movies, so we naturally must return the favour of your gracious welcoming of us and our fellow freed slaves, as well as for your continued protection. Please, come, take a seat. As your gracious host, I insist. ” Admiral Stephen and some other people on the front row looked at each other a bit questioningly, and then decided to stand up and take a seat at the smaller kobold-sized table. But strangely enough, there were no chuckles this time. Human humour was evidently difficult to understand. “So, I understood a bit from these gracious lawyers that you wanted to talk to us about possibly helping us free my fellow kobolds in Draconia? ” Grutak yipped enthusiastically. “Ah, yes. In specific, these are exploratory talks to see what you know, what needs to be done, and the gap inbetween that we would then make our strategy on. “Excellent! ” Grutak yipped, his excitement barely contained. “Well, for what needs to be done, it would be freeing all slaves in Draconia – “ “And freeing my own people from the indoctrination of the tyrannical elders! ” Gary interrupted from outside of the room. “Right! And as for what you need to know, well, ask me what you wish. “Right, so in the weeks that you have been in the university, have you and your compatriots learned a bit about human society? And how we govern? ” The admiral asked. “Of course! ” Fortak yipped in her higher pitched bark. “It’s been very interesting to learn about all sorts of wonderful things like electricity and steel manufacturing, or – “ “Ah, yes. We’ve also learned about human society. ” Grutak yipped, trying to keep Fortak and the others on point. “Things like democracies, and freedom of speech, and especially the minority rights, those we really like. ” “Yes! I am actually quite fond of a bicameral parliamentary system, based on an extensive constitutional foundation that lays out an independently appointed judiciary! ” Gary growled loudly, scaring some of the humans in the room. “I’d like to be a judge one day. I think it’d be swell. ” “Right. But have you also learned the exact studies that precede such things? Have any of you actually governed? ” Stephen asked. “Ah, I’m the most experienced here. I’ve been leading warbands since I escaped slavery some two decades ago. “So, if you are talking about political things, uh, maybe? ” “Right. But do any of you know how to create a new government, from the ground up? Let alone run one? ” Stephen asked. “Ah, maybe? ” Astak, a village elder yipped. “It can’t be that hard though, if that is what you are asking. You educate one child, you know how to educate a village. If you know how to hold together a village of 200, then you can do so for 2000, as I have been doing now for this current group of kobolds. ” “So, you would also know how to do it for 200 million kobolds? ” The admiral asked, clearly still not very impressed by their answers. “Uh, it’s a big number, but perhaps, yes? ” Astak answered. “How long in the day did you need to govern a village of 200? ” Stephen asked then. “About a quarter of the time between sunrise and sunset usually. ” Astak yipped, then she hesitated. “Ah. It’s taking me a full day now. ” “For 200 million, you’d need a lot of you’s, and you’d need a good sense of coordination between you all. I mean, if that is what you want, as that is what you would need for a bicameral parliamentary republic. If you choose to have small villages everywhere, then it’d be a decentralized nation. ” “No! That’s how the old stories tell of us losing our power and making us weak and allowing the dragons to conquer us, as our old Gods fought each other first! ” Grutak instantly yipped. “That can’t happen again! We stand strong together and must stay together! ” “So, then we have one question answered so far. ” Stephen said. “Next items you’d have to think about is the sheer structure of, well, everything that encompasses society. That means legislature, law enforcement, health care, judiciary, penal system, education, food supply, economy, logistics and infrastructure, finances and taxes, not to mention what you’d want to do with land distribution, housing, bill of rights, individual rights and national rights, as well as everything else I haven’t mentioned yet. ” “Uh… we thought maybe you could do that for us? ” “Do you want us to become your new masters? Do you want to rely on us for everything? ” “Ah. I see where this is going. “Yes. And since you have visited us, this was no more than a polite way of saying that you can’t help us. ” Astak yipped. “Oh, no, we can. Born and raised Texan here and Ive never heard of in tall cotton and neither has Matthew so its obviously not something used today. Maybe back in the slave age idk. Good some quality shit coming up. Tom Cruise: Yes. The gentlemen music. So we might have seen it all before, but Ritchie is on form again with a tried and tested mix of stellar cast, using the dialogue to its best. Hugh Grant stood out for me as he's made the shift from slightly edgy and nervous English chap to a run of really decent roles that he can sink his more mature teeth into. Dont wanna be that guy but I dont think you get lions in the jungle 😂. Not sure if anyone knows of any similar brands, but I found this bit interesting: We designed and manufactured all of the fabrics for the tracksuits for Colin and his crew. We based them on classic English suiting fabrics, which we then enlarged, made more vibrant and printed onto a modern quilted technical fabric. We wanted to show how different groups of people have interpreted this classic “Englishness. ” In this case, a more modern update for streetwear and casual sportswear. It sounds like they made theirs custom for the film.

The actors were great, story line was great (with uncountable plot twists that kept tilting the story to another direction) and the cinematography was amazing. best movie I have seen in a while i highly recommend.

A more mature gangster movie that glorifies the gangster life without glorifying the violence, which means there's a lot of talking, but not much else. Solid performances from the entire cast, but the story wasn't that engaging and the twists weren't that surprising. Good use of humour and style, but the lead up to and inclusion of the 4th wall cameo felt unnecessary.
